Portable meter designed to check the conductivity (EC) of water and nutrient solutions. Useful for quick checks and for keeping fertilization management more stable.
Key features
- Parameter measured: conductivity (EC)
- Calibration: manual adjustment via calibration screw
- Calibration solution indicated: 1413 µS/cm (at 25 °C)
- Recommended use: rinse the electrode with distilled water before/after measurement
- Usage notes: do not immerse beyond the display level
Overview
What it is for
It is used to check the EC of the nutrient solution to understand whether the salt concentration is consistent with the crop stage and with the nutrition strategy in use.
Who it is for
- Hydroponic and fertigation growers who want practical and frequent checks
- Those preparing nutrient solutions and wanting to check consistency from one mix to another
- Users who prefer a pocket-sized and simple-to-use format
What makes it different
- Manual calibration with a small screwdriver (as per instructions)
- Essential operating procedure: immersion up to the indicated level and wait for reading stabilization
- Basic maintenance instructions to reduce unstable readings (electrode cleaning)
How to use
Measurement
- Remove the protective cap.
- Clean the electrode with distilled water and dry it with paper.
- Switch on the instrument.
- Immerse the electrode in the solution up to the indicated immersion level, without going beyond the display level.
- Move gently and wait for the reading to stabilize.
- After use, rinse the electrode with distilled water and replace the cap.
Calibration
- The indicated procedure requires the use of a 1413 µS/cm standard solution (at 25 °C) and adjustment via calibration screw.
- Immerse the electrode in the 1413 µS/cm calibration solution (25 °C).
- Wait for stabilization.
- Adjust the calibration screw until the instrument shows “1413”.
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water and dry gently.
Maintenance
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water after each use.
- If marked anomalies or instability are noticed, the instructions indicate cleaning the electrode by immersion in alcohol.
Warnings
- Do not immerse the instrument beyond the display level.
- Avoid bubbles on the electrode during measurement.

FAQ & growing tips
Why is it useful to measure EC on a sample?
Taking a sample in a clean container helps reduce impacts on the electrode and avoid contamination of the tank during measurement.
What can I do if the reading is unstable?
The instructions suggest checking electrode cleanliness and recalibrating with standard solution, in addition to avoiding bubbles during immersion.
